Finding good players is easy.  Getting them to play as a team is another story.

Team Members and Their Roles

A team should have at least five members.  You can run a group on less than five people but then it will get a little harder to do because you are doing several things at once.  This opens you up to missing key information and you could miss a very critical event.  So having the right balance of team members and the right tasks for the skills of each person is very important to any investigation.

The following list of positions is just a guideline.  You can have multiple items assigned to each person in the team, although I would recommend no more than two tasks per person.

When looking for members for you team, try to look for people who have either experience or the basic knowledge for the task that you give them.  So if you have a member who is familiar with audio, don’t put them in the note takers spot.  Remember that even though you have the spots filled and have quality people you need to make sure that you have teamwork.  Without this key element you will not be a very effective group.

Lead Investigator

The person who is conducting the investigation.  This person is in charge of overseeing the investigation.  Some of the duties include:

This person will also be the main contact between the group and the client and they will meet with the client for the after-action report and any follow up that is needed.

Contact / Interviewer

This person is the first person that the client will come into contact with.  When a request for an a investigation is received, this person will call the client and conduct a phone interview to see if any investigation is warranted.  If an investigation is warranted, the contact person will inform the Lead Investigator of a possible case.  Also, while at the location, this person is in charge of conducting on-site interviews with the clients and any witnesses.  If there are several people to interview, it is possible to allow other members of the group to conduct the interviews.

While conducting the interviews, the member should be able to make a general/detail map of the location that is being investigated.  This is used both by the investigators for the location of the activity hot spots and also for any Psychics who are doing the walk-thru of the location.  In addition, this person should also be able to help conduct the background research for the location that is under investigation.

It is recommended that all new members learn how to conduct the interviews.

Note Taker

This person works with the interviewer/tech team and document all Psychics walk-thru's that are done.  They will write down all information that the Psychic encounters/feels and will also document any hot spots that the Psychic encounters.  This person will also be documenting during any video/audio/Psychic contact sessions.

Researcher

This Person will be doing the background check on the location that is being investigated.  This can be done with the interviewer or it can be done with a different person.

Lead Tech

This person is in charge of all technological parts of the investigation.  They are in charge of cataloging all video, audio, and all meter recordings and results.  They will also review with the lead investigator all video/audio/meter results.  Also they should be on the look out for new technological devices that might be able to be used in investigations.

The duties of this person are as follows:

It would be a good idea to have all your members trained in this aspect of the investigation just in case one person is not able to attend so you have a back-up person.

Assistant Tech

This person works with the Lead Tech.  When the Lead Tech is not available for an investigation, this person fills in that role.  His/her duties are the same as the Lead Tech.

Psychic/Psychic Medium

The Psychic gathers energy information form the location.  This can be from the location itself or from a ghost in that location.  It is very important that all information about the investigation is kept away from the person who is doing the psychic part of the investigation until they have done their walk-thru.

The client may give a tour of the location to the people who are conducting the walk-thru.  (i.e. this is the living room, bathroom, basement, etc...)  If you are using several psychics, it is a good idea to have them show up an hour after the technical members arrives.  This gives the technical team time to get basic information without the psychics overhearing it during their walk-thru. .

During their walk-thru a member one of the note takers should follow the psychic to document all information that the psychic relays.
