Talking Boards Any board with that has the alphabet and numbers 0-9 imprinted on it and used to communicate with ghosts, spirits and/or angels.  Also called Ouija boards, Witch boards, Spirit boards and Angel boards.  Their use is controversial as many believe there are more bad stories reported then good.

Telepathy (TP) Thought transference between two physical beings, whether two humans or a human and an animal.
Theosophy New [3]

While the term has appeared several times throughout history, most commonly it refers to a movement started in the 1800s Russian Helena Petrovna Blavatsky along with others.  It's basic tenet was that each religion is a piece of the greater truth and was a combination of western thought, eastern influence and the emerging understanding of science.  Some of the terms and concept used in the New Age movement, thus used by ghost hunters come from Theosophy.

For more information see the Wikipedia article Theosphy.

Thermal-gun A device that can read air and surface temperature.  Many ghost researchers have been able to obtain photographs of ectoplasmic clouds and floating balls of light as a result of using the thermal scanner to track anomalous Cold Spots.  These cold spots may be from 25 degrees to 60 degrees colder than the surrounding ambient air temperature.
Tomb New [2] A burial chamber, or mausoleum, usually made of stone.  See alsoCrypt.
Vardøger New [3] The less sinister, Norwegian version of a Doppelganger Sometimes also “Doubleganger” or “Evil Twin.“  An apparition of a living person that is a harbinger of illness (when seen by others) or death (when seen by one's self). It can appear once or repeatedly.  From the 1830s German for double-goer.[1]  See also: Bilocation, Etiäinen, Fetch, Fylgja, Vardøger.
Veil, The New [3] Described as the line between life and death. It can simply be that simple or more complex.  When a person dies they enter The After Life.  At this point, most commonly there is a Light that indicates the doorway to a place of Love and Peace.
Vortex Earth energy that rises straight up and can go quiet high.  This is not necessarily a portal for the dead or other entities to use to move between planes, but it can draw their attention.  A vortex cannot be closed or shut down, it might - might - be dampened little - maybe - if someone is really, really good.  These are similar to ley lines and may occur were the lines intersect but that has not be confirmed.
Wraith New [2]

Scottish for ghost, that came to mean a portent or omen. It's origin is up for debate.

1513, “ghost,” Scottish, of uncertain origin. Weekley suggests Old Norse vorðr “guardian” in the sense of “guardian angel.” Klein points to Gaelic, Ir. arrach “specter, apparition.”[1]
